37Signals TIME Interview

In the recent issue of TIME, in Top Business Teams topic there was an interview for 37signals with the header saying:

Small is Essential. With a million users and a payroll of eight, software sensation 37signals excels by doing more with less.

They also proudly display on their website 37signals.com a quote from TIME magazine stating, “One of the Net’s rising stars”.

What caught my attention however is a quote from Jason Fried the founder of 37signals to the question, “Why does 37signals avoid meetings at all costs”.

Interruption is the biggest enemy of productivity. We stay away from each other.

Create You’re Own TV Channel?

with the emergence of several innovative web applications, it’s no wonder why some of our favorite things to do in real life end up in the web.

Take for example listening to the radio, in the past we would just turn on the radio, and then fiddle with it’s dials and buttons and listen to either news or music. When computers and the internet came, we still manage to listen to the radio we put beside our computers. Now the radio is already in the internet, we don’t need to fiddle with dials, we click and drag. On example is last.fm.

So the developers have nothing to do but let another part of our routine slapped to the internet… Watching the boob tube… First we had syndicated videos on youtube, or post our own, and several aspiring movie makers started having income by making viral marketing videos. The next step would then be to broadcast a live feed via the internet, and eventually move all of your TV channels to the net.

That’s where WorldTV.com comes in, the problem was in the organizing of your favorite TV channels, and even make it work like Tivo… They currently have a beta release available, slowly but surely becoming one of a thousand staple activities we will (more…)

Design Envy

Let me put it this way, you decide you want to make a website for a hobby, then decided you want to learn more, then after a while your friends start commending your work, so you decide to join a webmasters community to learn as much as you can. You get your site critiqued and received a couple of praises, then you wake up the next morning and you suddenly decide to become a web designer, and make it your profession.

After a couple of days you were pretty good at marketing yourself and made a couple of sites. You were pretty much feel you’re on cloud 9. Now you think you’re pretty good at this stuff, but then… you got here and read my post and go to the following three sites below…
